Description
This December 1970 photograph shows, left to right, Simmie Goldsmith, Emily Islas, and librarian Audrey Bryant. Bryant, a native of Chicago, came to Sacramento in 1942, serving as a visiting librarian and the only paid staff member from 1949 to 1980 at the Fruitridge Branch. She sold her home in 1980, the garage of which served as a contract branch of the Sacramento County Library for 30 years. She died in 1984 at the age of 67.
