Photograph caption dated Feburary 19, 1958 reads, "Canoga Park High's Valley League sprint king, Gary Johnson, gets pointers on how to fix the starting blocks from coach Blair Fictum. Johnson will make his 1958 debut Friday, March 7, in the sixth annual Canoga Park Relays which features all track athletes in A, B and C divisions from the six Valley League schools. Charley Cromwell along with Fictum coaches the Canoga Park track team. Johnson is a 10s flat sprinter and a 22.2, 220 man."
