Description
Seated, left to right at a Muir Woods campsite: Andrew Pringle [identify unconfirmed, but likely]; John "Jack" Sibbald; William Kent; William Savage. Standing, left to right: Emmett Kent Sibbald; Sidney Cushing. The identities listed above were discerned from a copy of the photograph in the William Kent family papers collection at Yale University's Sterling Memorial Library. The print features handwritten identifications. The handwriting appears to be that of William Kent. The men seated in the front row are labeled as such (left to right): Pringle; Sibbald; WK; Savage. The child and man standing at back are labeled: K. Sibbald; Sidney Cushing. Print also lists "Ed Schmiedell taking pictures". "Pringle" is believed to be Andrew Pringle, a resident of Scotland, who was visiting Jack Sibbald at Sibbald's Santa Rosa home in 1899, the same year the photo was taken at one of Sibbald's Sonoma or Mendocino County ranches. "Sibbald" was John "Jack" Sibbald, Albert Kent's friend and ranching partner. "WK" is William Kent. "Savage" is William Kent's cousin, William Savage. "K. Sibbald" is Jack Sibbald's son, Emmett Kent Sibbald.
