Description
Photograph of Los Angeles' first high school on Fort Moore Hill (Pound Cake Hill, Signal Hill), looking south from Temple Street and Broadway, ca.1875. The two-story school is pictured at center, behind several clusters of trees. It's clock tower extends from its roof and appears to have no hour or minute hand. The city is visible below the hill in the distance, along with mountains, the bell tower of St. Vibiana Cathedral at 2nd Street and Main Street visible in the background.
