This is a photograph of Maryknoll Frs. Jacques and Davis on the steps of their residence at Fushun. Fr. Jacques holds a pipe. Born in Ontario, Canada, Fr. Jacques came to Maryknoll in 1924 and was ordained to the priesthood in 1927. That same year he began his almost forty year mission work in Fushun, Manchuria. In 1948 he was assigned to Kweilin where he worked until he was expelled to Hong Kong in 1950. He spent many years in Taiwan. -- Born in Pennsylvania, Fr. Davis came to Maryknoll in 1917 and was ordained to the priesthood in 1926. He departed for Fushun, Manchuria that same year. He worked there until 1932 when a tumor forced a leg amputation and his early return to the United States. He was affectionately known as "Pop". His assignments included Spiritual Director, Vice- Rector, Professor of Moral Theology, Professor of Canon Law, Librarian, Archivist, and delegate to the Fourth General Chapter to the Society.
