Description: Designed by experts, the houses, pastel-hued, in the federal government's small farm homestead project at El Monte are built for beauty, comfort and convenience. The photo shows Arline Chewning inspecting the open-beam-ceiling living room of a four-bedroom dwelling on August 1, 1935. The house will be sold by the government for $3000, including an acre of ground. The buyer may pay for it at $18 a month for 20 years.
