Description
There are 182 letters written between June 4 and August 13, 1777 and concern the War for Independence.
Philip John Schuyler was named one of four major generals under George Washington on June 15, 1775. Assigned to the command of the Northern Department, he recruited and provisioned an army for the invasion of Canada.
