Description
Photograph of an exterior view of the Sam (or Maurice?) Hellmann residence on Fourth Street between Main Street and Spring Street, Los Angeles, ca.1885. A two-story Victorian-style house with clapboard siding is pictured at center behind a wrought-iron fence. A bay window can be seen on each story to the extreme left of the house, protruding from its face. Two faux columns stand to either side of the house's single door, with the porch partially visible to the right behind some tree cover. A tall tree stands in front of the fence to the left. The first cataloged image shows a sign on the tree edited out, however, the other images with this file show the unedited sign.
