Advertising postcard for the Tavern of Tamalpais, located at the summit of Mt. Tamalpais in Marin County, California. Shows the Tavern of Tamalpais and the Mount Tamalpais and Muir Woods Railway; the tavern was built in 1896 and destroyed by fire in 1923. It was rebuilt on a smaller scale in 1924 (with no lodging) and razed in the 1950's after a windstorm blew the roof off.
