Description
Author and journalist Upton Sinclair, shown seated with his wife, left, speak to Richard Otto, president of the End Poverty League. Founder of the End Poverty in California (EPIC) movement, Sinclair was the principal speaker of EPIC's three-day convention. Sinclair declared that America is headed for "inflation and national bankruptcy" and eventual dictatorship unless the production for use program is adopted. Photograph dated ca. 1935.
