Description
This is a photograph of "Maryknoll sisters home visiting in the villages along the roads of China... in the days when they were free to travel the roads of China. These roads once witnessed happy groupings...smiling and exchanging words or kindness and concern for one another. Now... their smiles have faded... no word is uttered along this road...lest the ear of the Communist guard hear and distort it. Quite a difference in the lives of men who have a right to such ordinary gifts of life."
