Photograph caption dated September 24, 1959 reads, "Long range planning to continue the North Hollywood shopping district improvement program on completion of current parking expansion was discussed at a Lakeside Club luncheon meeting of 15 retail and financial leaders this week. A vigorous approach to such remaining phases as 'new look' for building fronts and streamlining of Lankershim with accent on class appeal both in merchandise and service featured the meeting. It was stated that the palm tree program for Lankershim was progressing. C. W. Young, of R. W. Harper Investment Co., Studio City, speaker, praised North Hollywood for its distinguished Valley history and cited key points on which the long range planning could be based.
