Photograph of an exterior view of the Alouvo Wheeler Bakery in Avalon, ca.1895. Six people stand on the porch of the Avalon Bakery at left, with more near the Avalon Shell Store and Avalon Ice Cream Parlor and Confectionary, which extend down the unpaved road, respectively. Hills are visible in the background. Other portions of the signs read: "Family Groceries", "Coffee Room", "Cigar and Tobacco / Stationary", and "Fruit and Vegetables". A steamer trunk sits on the left side of the bakery's porch. Crates of goods stand off of it further left. Wheeler was the purchaser of the first lot sold in Avalon, and owner of Schooner Ruby, the first boat to arrive. Picture file card reads: "Punt Shell Store".
