Description
Deprived of a last chance at smog-making, an incinerator is loaded into a hearse for a ride to the dump. Pallbearers are, left to right: A. Edsel Curry, President of Junior Chamber of Commerce; S. Price Scot, Vice President of Junior Chamber; John R. Glass; Victor Etienne; Lynn H. Montoy Jr. ; Karl R. Davis Jr.; Roy Irvin and Delbert Campbell. All backyard burners will be illegal as of October 1, when Air Pollution Control District's ban on residential incinerators comes effective. Many of the incinerators have been converted to outdoor barbecues by owners. Photo dated September 30, 1957.
