Title supplied by cataloger. The tower of Wrigley Field contained the Angels's offices and memorialized baseball players who were killed in World War I. The plaque shown is now on Santa Catalina Island, where the Angels held spring training. Judge Kenesaw M. Landis speaks during the dedication ceremony of the 9-story tower at Wrigley Field in early 1926, a few months after the park opened in September 1925. The plaque seen on the left reads,"This tower was erected by Wm. Wrigley, Jr. in honor of the baseball players who gave or risked their lives in the defence [of this country] in the [Great] World War Jan. 15, 1925."
