Description
Image of a drill being lowered. Description on back of photograph refers to photo 14145 OS, and reads: "Here see an overall view of the same well with Mr. Cliver lowering his bit deeper in the hole. The pipe shown hanging in the center of the derrick is a square shouldered pipe called a kelly which is turned by the rotary table shown in the center of the derrick floor. In the foreground are several single joints of drill pipe which will be added to the drilling string as the hole gradually gets deeper."
