Description
This 1960 view of K Street shows the Fratt Building, which was built in 1870 by Francis W. Fratt, a prominent Sacramento cattle dealer and real estate promoter since 1850. His home was here until 1908. Many cars are parked along both sides of the street and groups of men stand in front of the businesses. The Western Loan Office Pawnbrokers at 208 K St., Joe's Cafe at 206 K St., Argonaut Hotel at 206 K St., Ace Loan Company Pawnbrokers at 204 K St., Jim's Clip Joint Barbershop at 202 K St., Alaska Hotel at 200 K St., and Friendly Corner Drugs & Sundries at 200 K St. were located in the building.
