Report, "Japanese groups and associations in the United States," on Japanese social, economic, religious, and nationalistic groups and associations in the United States. Covers Kenjinkai or prefectural associations, Junior Kenjinkai, Nihonjinkai or Japanese associations, Seinenkai or young people's societies, Fujinkai or women's societies, Japanese Chambers of Commerce, hotel associations, California Farmers Association, Japanese Labor Association, Ko or Tonomoshi credit clubs, Buddhism (including Shinshu or Hongwanji, Zen, Nichiren, and Odaishi), Shinto, Seicho No Iye, Budokai, Heimusha Kai and patriotic contribution societies, veteran's societies, and Japanese language schools. The Japanese American Archival Collection documents the people, places, and daily life of Japanese Americans, primarily those who lived in the once thriving community of pre-war Florin in the Sacramento region, as well as the conditions in American incarceration camps during World War II. The approximately 7,000 original items include personal and official letters, photographs, diaries, arts and crafts, newsletters, textiles, camps artifacts, yearbooks and other publications.
