Description
Built 1887 or 1888 on the NW corner of Orange & Myrtle Aves. Cyrus A. Campbell purchased the north half of the Wilde and Brossart building (J.A. Case, architect and contractor). "Cyrus A. Campbell, of the Monrovia Land Bureau, yesterday placed in his office a fine Macneale & Urban safe." Monrovia Planet 2/11/1888".Cyrus A. Campbell is in doorway with white hat. Next to him is J.W. Harvey, Editor, Monrovia Messenger. Second from far right may be Francis M. Pottenger. The reflection was a building on the east side of Myrtle, south of the Monrovia Hotel, later known as the Harper block, which was built by John Wilde.
