Photograph caption dated November 12, 1963 reads "Thrifty Drug just recently opened a new store in the Encino Shopping Center, Ventura Blvd. and Zelzah Ave. The firm now has 23 stores in the Valley. Among those attending the opening were Arthur Henry, Thrifty store manager; George Gobel, entertainer; Manny Borun, Thrifty vice president; James B. Potter, Los Angeles City Councilman, and Bob Myers, assistant to Supervisor Warren Dorn."
