"Entered according to Act of Congress in the year 1863 by Charles Magnus, in the Clerks Office of the District Court of the United States of the Southern District of New York."--text, bottom center margin. "Drawn by F. Fuchs."--text, bottom right margin. "Published by Charles Magnus 12 Frankfort Street, New York."--text, bottom center margin. "To Tad, a fine young soldier. / U.S. Grant"--text, verso, handwritten in black ink. (Ulysses S. Grant's inscription on verso is addressed to Tad. Tad likely refers to Abraham Lincoln's son Thomas.)
