Photograph of a half-tone print of a painting of the Oregon, a side-wheel steamer, the second steamship to reach San Francisco from New York. No sails are unfurled on any of the three masts. An American flag flies from the stern (left), a "U.S. Mail" flag flies from the middle mast, and another flag (Oregon?) flies from the front mast. The smokestack belches smoke amidships. View is of the starboard side.
