Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph article dated October 1, 1962 partially reads, "Even by the standards of the far-flung San Fernando Valley Assembly districts, Norbert Schlei is a widely traveled candidate. The Democratic nominee in the 57th District is at present some 3,000 miles from his precincts. And there's indication that he'll only spend a weekend or two in the Valley before Nov. 6. His Republican opponent, 16-year-incumbent Charles Conrad, will be traveling from Hollywood to Agoura during the campaign. Republican Donald Kahl and Democrat Tom Waite will be driving from Burbank to Pearblossom in their contest for the 62nd Assembly District seat." Pictured is Donald Kahl.
