Description
Making its way along L Street, in this circa 1911 postcard, is the Hotel Land's 26-horse power, 18-passenger Frayer-Miller auto bus. The Land started the service -- the first of its kind in the city -- at the end of 1910, when it starting shuttling guests from the Southern Pacific station to the hotel. In the background is the California State Capitol building.
