Description
"Schutzhütte beim Bau der Station Moravia." ("Shelter during the building of the mission station Moravia."). On the right: a shelter built of boards and piles with benches inside. In the background: a group of men laying bricks, including a missionary. In the foreground: boards lying on the ground. On the left beside the new station: a large tree.
One copy of the photograph is torn. -- Werner Hauffe (1909-1982) was a carpenter and later a missionary of the Herrnhuter Brüdergemeine. From 1933 to 1939, he served in Rungwe, Utengule and Isoko. In Utengule, he was an assistant to Brother Gemuseus. In 1937 he married Irmgard Wolff.
