Description
The photo caption in the Sacramento Bee of January 22, 1974 pertinent to this photo states: "Recent heavy runoff of rain and melting snow has filled many Northern California reservoirs earlier that unusual. Jenkinson Lake, five miles southeast of Pollock Pines in El Dorado county, . . . (was) spilling excess water through overflow passages. . . . Jenkinson spilled over seven weeks early."
