Description
Shown on May 28, 1942, is the Oak Park Methodist Episcopal Church, at the corner of Thirty-Sixth Street and Sacramento Boulevard. Under the direction of Oakland-based architect Wilson J. Wythe, the exterior of the structure was made of hollow tiles. Seating capacity in the main auditorium was 500, while up to 400 children could be accommodated between Sunday school facilities, the social hall of gymnasium. Church facilities also served Oak Park’s Sacramento Young Men’s Christian Association chapter.
