Photograph caption reads: "Rolling out the last of its kind: The final B-1 bomber built for the Air Force rolled off the assembly line yesterday at Rockwell's plant in Palmdale. About 500 workers and Air Force officials watched ceremonies marking the close of the 100-plane, $28 billion program that has been controversial since its inception. The B-1 is intended to penetrate the enemy airspace at treetop level at speeds that would make it difficult to catch, but the warplane's critics say the weapons system is faulty."
