Description: "President and Mrs. Fong, Architect Canning Young, and Mr. Phelps inspect the model of the new West China University Chinese Christian Cathedral, at the Ceremony of the Laying of the Cornerstone, June 1949. We have now close to four hundred members: Faculty, Community, Students, Workers." A group of people are looking at an incomplete model of a building, while the actual building is in the progress of being built in the background.
