Description
READY - The former Matau building has been renamed the First Western Bank Building in honor of its principal, whose Downtown Sacramento office was opened Friday. The structure at 8th and J streets also houses the bank's regional office. The building was purchased by Dan M. Brooks and Peter Van Gelder last June and remodeling work has been aimed at giving the structure a conservative, turn of the Century flavor. Cannell and Chaffin, a Los Angeles design firm, did the remodeling plans for the banking offices, a job for which Jerry Perich of Sacramento was the contractor.
