Photograph article dated July 15, 1954 partially reads, "After 40 witnesses and volumes of testimony had been given, some witnesses favoring all of the three routes under study and others pleading for the immediate construction of the Riverside-Ventura freeway, the California Highway Commission announced today that a decision would be made in October... Frank W. Pine, North Hollywood, representing the Valley chambers of commerce and other groups, urged immediate freeway construction, without endorsing any specified route, while Dewitt McCahn, representing Valley Committee for Freeways Now, also wanted immediate construction, but recommended route one."
