Photograph caption dated June 12, 1987 reads, "When earthbound ladder trucks from the L.A. City Fire Department, left, were unable to reach the construction shaft in which a worker was trapped 10 stories up, a helicopter was summoned to Woodland Hills to do the job from above. A litter basket was lowered by cable from the fire department helicopter, the victim was strapped in, and as the chopper hovered a few feet from the roof at 21540 W. Oxnard St., above, he was drawn aboard for the flight to Northridge Hospital. The victim, identified only as Louis Small, was treated for a spinal injury and released."
