Photograph caption dated February 26, 1960 reads, "Melvin Pixley, seated at right, Imperial Potentate of Al Malaikah Temple, installed new officers of West Valley Shrine Club at meeting at Sportsmen's Lodge, 12833 Ventura Blvd., Sherman Oaks. Seated with Pixley is Mac Glorit, president of West Valley Shrine Club. Standing, from left, are Maurice Calfee, third vice president, former Valley Police Division commander and now a Los Angeles Police Department inspector; Dr. Joe Kaplan, first vice president; and Irvine Leonard, second vice president. More than 300 Shriners and wives attended installation ceremonies and dinner."
