Photograph caption dated October 19, 1963 reads, "Happy astronaut families - The families of three men joining the U.S. space agency's pool of astronauts, some of whom may reach the moon, smiled happily Friday at Edwards Air Force Base following the announcement of their husbands' selection in Houston, Tex. Mrs. Michael Collins holds her children, Ann, 2; Michael, 8 months, and Kathleen, 4. Mrs. Collins said she never worries about her husband: 'He always does his job well and I know he'll do his space job well too.'"
