Photograph caption dated June 16, 1964, reads, "Rebel priest 'keeps collar.' Following a meeting at the Los Angeles Archdiocese today, the rebel priest Father William DuBay said he was 'very happy' and proudly declared, 'I'm still wearing the collar.' Father DuBay, who wrote to Pope Paul VI urging the removal of James Francis Cardinal McIntyre as archbishop of Los Angeles, was called to the meeting and according to a spokesman, expected to be reprimanded for his actions."
