Description
„Versammlung gelegentlich der mißlungenen Königswahl. Eine Versammlung der Häuptlinge (Tembuland)“ („Assembly on the occasion of the failed king election. An assembly of the chiefs (Tembuland)”). A huge crowd of predominantly men are sitting on a plain in a circle. In the middle a man standing. Huts, trees, horses and hills are marking the background.
Theodor Karl Adolf Hartmann, born in 1892 in Urach (Germany), was a missionary of the Moravian Brethren in South Africa. In 1960 he became bishop. He died in 1964 in St. Michael’son/Sea (Queenstown/South Africa) and was buried in Mvenyane (South Africa).
