Photograph of a handbill advertising the H. Newmark and Company, importers and dealers in groceries, provisions, liquors, cigars and tobacco, [s.d.]. The handbill is made up solely of text and reads as follows: "H. Newmark & Co., 5 and 6, Arcadia Block, Los Angeles, Cal. Importers and Dealers in Groceries, Provisions, Liquors, Cigars and Tobacco. Hardware: Iron, Steel, Agricultural Implements, and Wagon Material. Paints, Oils, Etc., Etc. Being the oldest established and largest house in the trade, and as all goods kept by them are imported direct from the manufacturers and producers in the Atlantic states, Europe and San Francisco, they are enabled to offer superior inducements to purchasers. The highest price paid for Wool, Hides, Grain, Etc., Etc., and on which they will make liberal cash advances. Agency of the Commercial Union Insurance Company of London, capital $12,500,000 gold".
