Description
Photograph of the Hotel Julian in San Diego, California, ca.1928-1930. A modest, two-story residence with clapboard veneer stands by the side of a hill road, its porch shrouded by climbing vines. It sports four-paned picture windows, three on the broad side of the building's upper level, around which a balcony wrapped, and two on the narrow side, both top and bottom. Small shacks are visible behind the hotel to the left. A tree without foliage stands near yet another partially visible house to the right, next to a telephone pole. The beginnings of a ditch are apparent in the foreground. Listed with M. J. Jacobs, proprieter. See #8422
