Photograph caption dated April 11, 1939 reads, "Joan Crawford. A 'Lady in Orchid' gets divorce." Here Crawford testifies during the divorce trial where she spoke to the cruelty on the part of Franchot Tone. She blamed her nervousness and mental anguish on Tone's insistance that she accompany him to parties after having worked all day on set.
