This photograph is contained in one of two volumes by Dobbin titled "Album of San Francisco."
Text written to left of photo: "Refugee in his tent in Jefferson Square 1906." Text written underneath: "Here is contentment 'Nothing to do till to-morrow.'" Text written to right: "Contentment-No Rent, No Tasces [sic], No Gas-Bill, No Water Bill, No Work, Free Grub, Free Clothes, 'Oh Boy.'" Photo shows a man with a moustache, vest, and cap sitting in the doorway to his tent with a pipe in his hand. He has put up a rope fence around his tent and even seems to have a garden growing. Other tents can be seen behind his, along with Victorian houses along Eddy Street.
