Description
Brass and black desk phone Type B1, No. L 38. Black metal base with gold felt underneath. Handset has brown bakelite ear piece, brass mouthpiece, and brown plastic handle that rests in the cradle. Converted to RJ-45 wall connection. This telephone was designed so that the users voice vibrated the diaphragm through holes in the top of the transmitter housing while speaking directly into the mouthpiece. Any unwanted loud noise entered the transmitter housing both from the holes on top and underneath the diaphragm thus canceling itself out.
