Description
Trial exhibit J, prepared by Ralph Heintz, ca.1936, was one of seven breadboard models of electronic circuits used by Heintz & Kaufman to defend against the patent suit filed by Radio Corporation of America (RCA) in 1936. RCA , AT&T and Vreeland Apparatus filed suit in federal court (San Francisco) against Heintz and Kaufman in 1935. The seven breadboards were prepared before the suit came to trial in late 1936, to be presented in depositions by Ralph Heintz and in pre-trial demonstrations. Shortly after the trial commenced, the complaint was withdrawn. Heintz and Kaufman agreed out of court to accept RCA's offer of production rights for a small royalty fee.
