Description
“The Morris Cowley driven by my brother-in-law made a visit out here, views from the Yaws camp.” Landscape view of rolling hills with a car stopped on a road in the foreground and a man standing next to the passenger door. Dr Irvine’s brother-in-law was Raymond Carr only son of Ernest Carr (1868-1939). The treatment of Yaws was highly successful at Chogoria and the patients were kept in an isolation ward. ❧ This image is from the first years of the Chogoria mission in Kenya, which was run by the Rev. Dr Archibald Clive Irvine (1893-1974), from the collection entitled ‘Chogoria, 1922. The early days.”
