At Mission Santa Clara with Father Gilbert, H. Butterfield and Mr. & Mrs. Adams from San Jose, Father Gilbert shows us the large tree rose, Rosa banksiae alba plena, 80 years old, which runs along the trellis for 50 ft. It is 10.7 in. diameter at breast height and 12.8 in. at the ground. On the same trellis is a large Wisteria multijuga. 1941. Metcalf
