Photograph caption dated October 19, 1953 reads, "The arch at Valhalla cemetery, Burbank, which will be dedicated as 'Portal of the Folded Wings' Dec. 17, 50th anniversary of powered flight. Ashes of pioneer flier, Walter Brookins, will be inurned here. In picture are James N. Gillette, Mrs. Walter Brookins, widow of the flier, and Ed Cass Perry, Burbank librarian and custodian of aeronautical documents."
