Description
Black and white photocopy of original plat map created by Sherman Day in 1869, who copied his map from an original by Chester S. Lyman in 1850. The original of this map was recorded in the City & County of San Francisco, June 26, 1869. Note: A color version of this map can be found in the 1876 Thompson & West Atlas, page 20. This copy includes a copy of the notarized statement filed with the map in 1869, "Sherman Day being first duly sworn deposes and says that the accompanying map of the Plan of the Western Section of Alviso, a town in the County of Santa Clara State of California, is a true and correct copy made by him from the original map of the plat of said town made by Chester S. Lyman from his own surveys -- in the year 1850 -- Sherman Day. Subscribed and sworn to before me this 26th day of June A.D. 1869.."
