Photograph was edited for publication purposes. Photograph article dated September 19, 1960 reads, "To 11-year-old Cindy Gay, a breaststroke swimmer from Woodland Hills, the Olympic Games held this summer in Rome were a distant dream. But when the athletes gather again in 1964 at Tokyo, there's an excellent chance she'll be there. Earlier this month, Cindy, who will be approximately the proper age for female U.S. Olympic swimmers in four years, broke the 50-yard record for her age group."
