Washington: Pres. Nixon went to the Goddard Space Flight Center in suburban Greenbelt, Md., 4/14 for a close personal check on the plight of the Apollo 13 astronauts. The center is a key link in earth-space communications. Nixon is flanked here by Dr. John F. Clark, director of the center (left), and Henry Thompson, deputy director.
