Description
Bust-length portrait.
1990-1755.
Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, 1815. Trained as lawyer. Served in First Regiment of the Ohio Infantry in War with Mexico. Arrived in California in 1849 via Panama route, as part of the United States Boundary Commission. Settled in San Diego. Served in the organizational California Assembly, appointed District Judge of First District, Collector of Customs for Port of San Diego, active in San Diego & Gila Southern Pacific Railroad, served as Director of Commercial Bank of San Diego, president of Consolidated Bank of San Diego. Died in 1896.
