Supplementary material reads: "Gershon. City desk. Cruiser Los Angeles. Illus. No. 1: Cruiser Los Angeles approaching Long Beach Harbor on her return from second tour of duty in Korea. No. 2: Left to right: Mayor Lyman B. Sutter, mayor of Long Beach, shakes hands with Capt. Lawrence Daspit, commanding the cruiser Los Angeles while Rear Admiral W.V. Oregan, commander, cruiser division 5 looks on. Los Angeles is his division flagship. No. 3: Same as No. 2. No. 4: Crowd shot. No. 5: David Smith, Storekeeper 2nd Class, and Max Richardson, Seaman, hold up sign 'Hail, the Gang's All Here' to crowd on dock as Cruiser Los Angeles warps alongside. No. 6: Sailors release balloons as reply to crowd's welcome from dock. No. 7-8: Long Beach City College dancing girls entertain sailors on Cruiser Los Angeles. No. 9-10: Lucky and no longer lonesome Dick (correct) Lemon, 25, of Clovis, New Mexico, gets kissed by Misses Rickey Pometti, left, and Carolyn Allen. He had written to L.A. Chamber of Commerce for letters and two girls took up correspondence and then went to ship here on arrival from Korea to give him further cheering. 'I was lonely out there,' Lemon said. 11-12: Misses Rickey Pometti and Carolyn Allen present flowers to Capt. Lawrence Daspit and Rear Admiral W.V. Oregan. They represented L.A. Chamber of Commerce. 13-14: Dockside shots show crowd going aboard cruiser Los Angeles. Ship is at Berth 18, Long Beach, will have open house today, Armed Forces Day."
